Be Like A Princess

I watched a few videos of people standing close to, but not touching the branch of a tree, and then asking it to touch them. After a few minutes the branch brushes against them softly. Ummm… oh dear. So a regular thing I do is go out into the garden and tell the plants if they are good or being a jerk. I don’t actually think they understand what I am saying. It’s more for me to maybe plan out what needs to be done in the garden. Maybe a plant needs support or just a trim. But if they can actually understand me, I feel really bad. I have said some really unkind things to the plants in my garden. I wonder if some of them hate me. Oh gosh.

Dress me Baroque or Musketeer’s Fashion (Style and Fashion Books)
by Alaya Aifel
4.8 Stars (15 Reviews)

FREE for a limited time

Step back into the world of the 17th century, where attire was as bold and intricate as the intrigues of the day. In Dress Me Baroque, I invite you to see The Three Musketeers as you’ve never seen it before — through the eyes of a storyteller with a passion for the sartorial.

This is Alexandre Dumas’s The Three Musketeers but retold through the threads of its fashion.

Who could forget the Diamond Studs Affair? A simple set of jewels on the Queen’s bodice nearly upended a nation, sparking a covert mission with lace, silk, and loyalty woven together. Or imagine Constance Bonacieux, blending her life as a seamstress and secret agent, using a simple handkerchief to pass coded messages right under the watchful eye of the court.

Join me in my exploration of the fashion of aristocrats and musketeers, where every lace-trimmed sleeve and jeweled button whispered of ambitions, and hidden desires.

For lovers of historical fashion and tales of intrigue.

by Louise Davidson

5 ingredients + 15 minutes preparation time + Slow cooker = Fabulous One Pot Meal!

Have you ever found yourself going home, tired after a long day, only to discover that you still have to cook food? The prospect of having to prepare several ingredients, use a frying pan or an oven, and then perform other complicated and time consuming tasks may either make you to order out or skip dinner altogether.

If think about it, using a slow cooker can solve all this. It will make you save time and energy and money. What’s not to like? On top of that, if you only need five ingredients to prepare your meals, and 15 minutes to make it, it’s even better!

Slow cookers allow you to go home with food not only ready for you to eat, but also still tasty and warm at the same time. All you have to do is to prepare the ingredients in the morning, put all of them in the slow cooker and leave it. No mess, no dishes to clean, and not much effort compared to other kitchen appliances. This also means less work and faster preparation time. You arrive at home with a one-pot meal ready to eat. It will give you more time to enjoy your meal.
Compared to ovens, slow cookers require a significantly lower amount of electricity. This means lower bills for you to pay. Another money-saver is that with slow cookers, you can buy the less expensive, tougher meats. Instead of the expensive choice cuts, you can use the tougher meats because the slow cookers will make the meat more tender.

Who Said That?? Me?

This morning I was stiff and could barely move. My first thought was my need to start stretching on a daily basis because the good stuff at garage sales are always under the tables. What a bizarre thing to put as the motivation. Not my health, but the idea that I wouldn’t be able to reach the good stuff at garage sales if I was to stiff to bend down. It is really a bit odd when you hear your own brain telling you that you are weird, and you just can’t argue with it’s logic.
