I love the books about magic cups, swords, cloaks and all the great things they do. The only problem is all the magic stuff gets you in trouble with evil demons and vampires. I wouldn’t want to find any of those things. I would want to find a magic pair of jeans that make you two sizes smaller, or magic shampoo that makes your hair perfect each time. A pen perhaps that makes you smart? OH MY! A magic POOPER SCOOPER. Yes..that would be a wondrous item to behold.

Sam had given up her Manhattan job, and her cute apartment in Brooklyn. She’d abandoned her astonished boyfriend to the charms of ESPN, and flown off into a new dawn to chase her dream of becoming an investigative journalist.
Three months later, alone in a soulless internet café, she’s facing some cold, hard facts; she’s unpublished, unhappy and broke. And right then, the gorgeous Pete Halland blows into her life, headed for the mythical Powder Burn mountain to write history and blast into legend.
If she throws in her lot with Pete and reports the story for National Geographic magazine it could rescue her ambitions, but he’s holding back some crucial information, the question for Sam is… what?
Soon, Sam is up to her neck in snow and the weather is the least of her problems; lost in a secretive Himalayan kingdom with, what could be, a magic sword and a simmering and potentially bloody revolution.
But the father she lost to the war in Iraq was a marine, and he taught her a few tricks in the Vermont backcountry that might just get her out alive, and with a story to tell that could make the front page of the New York Times.

You’ve Gone Too Far This Time, Sir!
Danny Bent
(70 Reviews)
Genre: Sports & Outdoors | Travel
FREE for a limited time
Have you ever woken up in the sultry heat of the morning, your hair and beard teeming with maggots, and then had potatoes picked out of your ears?
Have you ever felt the cold barrel of a semi automatic gun against your forehead?
When Danny Bent cycled 15,000 kilometres from the UK to India to raise money for ActionAid, it was a decision that took twenty years and one minute. For twenty years he had wanted to do something to raise money for charity. The one minute was when as their teacher he was put on the spot by his pupils and declared that the means was by bike, and he was going to India.
What he had signed up for was slogging along roads with trucks bearing down on him, unable to see and choking in the smog; shooting down treacherous descents with 100 foot drops, shaking with cold and too numb to brake; muscle burn and saddle sores; delirium and food poisoning; thirst and malnutrition; foul and insanitary conditions; life-threatening crises; obstructive border guards, crazed dogs and inquisitive passers-by.
‘You’ve Gone Too Far This Time, Sir!’ is a real and compelling blow-by-blow account of Danny’s trip across Europe, the former Soviet Republics, Russia, China, Pakistan and India.
And what people he met! They are the true delight of this book, mostly charming, sometimes reckless, occasionally threatening, always unpredictable, and forever inviting Danny to be up for the challenge of entertaining them, in one instance by dancing in front of a packed stadium, in another by eating sheep’s brains in a local night market.
Danny turns the wheels, you turn the pages. The pace is relentless. The story is both heart-stopping and heart-warming. The arrival is breakdown-and-cry emotional. And there’s loads of fun and wonderment along the way too.
What a book! What a ride! Live your dream.
Go for it, Danny.

“Charity Moon is an amazingly adorable book about the depths of true love.” -5 star rating from a reviewer
Charity Bell is eighteen, beautiful, and has an unyielding chip on her shoulder. The loss of her father and betrayal of her stepfather have left her angry and confident that no man will ever win her trust, or possess her heart. She wears that declaration proudly–on her countenance, as well as her sharp tongue.
That’s all tested when the enchanting Levi Drake transfers from her rival school across town. In a town divided by intense rivalry this should mean trouble, and yet the school is quickly won over by his alluring charm. When a strange encounter with the mysterious young man leaves Charity bewildered, she’s convinced he’s hiding something and sets out on a dangerous plot to discover his secret. What she uncovers, however, will leave her both grasping for reality and hanging onto the tattered shreds of what’s left of her declaration. As she faces the demons of her past, and present, she must decide if she can live, or die, with his.
