I just realized we are going camping next week. I have been so caught up with all the end of school activities that camping has been completely pushed to the side. One of the best parts of camping is thinking about all the cool stuff you’re going to do when you finally go camping. On the flip side I also have no time to panic about everything I have to do before we leave because now there is no time for that. How about if I do both and just scream in a very panicky voice about the great time we will have while I am getting ready? Boom..two birds one stone.

“Doctors don’t believe in magic.”
To Dr. Jeremiah Dakota, magic, ghosts, and evil spirits are fairy tales. Adopted by a white family at 6 months of age he’s never accepted his Hopi heritage. He’s more comfortable in the scientific world. So when a black owl blocks Jeremiah’s way home after attending a dying “witch,” he sees it as an only obstacle in the road.
However, his Hopi grandfather, Monroe DeClay, claims the owl is the evil Spirit of the dead witch. He believes Jeremiah’s soul is in danger. He insists he take part in a Sojourner Ceremony to be held in a place legendary for its mystical attributes and powerful ley line energy: The Anasazi ruins of Chaco Canyon.
A place where past and present are woven together. A place where only a very thin veil separates the living and dead.
For Jeremiah the journey to Chaco Canyon is much longer and much farther away than expected. During a purification sweat lodge he is magically transported to Chaco Canyon A.D. 1054.
His arrival draws the attention of the Witch-Spirit Owl Caller who has vowed to take revenge on the Wind House Anasazi. But, to carry out his scheme he must first take possession of Jeremiah’s body.

At what point in life have you officially not made it?
For Steve, Sophia, Dave, and Brooke, life hasn’t turned out as planned. Rather than easy fame and fortune, these happy-go-lucky teenagers of the 1980’s found young adulthood a mystifying series of dead-end jobs, failed relationships, family scandal, and surging frustration.
Now approaching middle age, all they want is to reverse their gradual alienation from life and one another, reconnecting with their earlier, innocent selves.
But there’s a catch. Before any of them can move forward, they must collectively confront that one outrageous night back in college that first drove them apart, revealing secrets potentially shattering everything they ever were.
Here is Phil Stern’s classic, unabridged novel chronicling the bumpy road many in Generation X took through their 20’s and 30’s. A blend of hard-edged Contemporary Fiction and raw satire, the narrative will resonate quite strongly with anyone who’s struggled to find their way, while also remaining true to themselves.
So if you’ve ever wondered why life is so much harder than you ever dreamed, the promised land always just out of reach, then The Bull Years is an experience not to be missed.
