My sweet chicken Jackie has been spending a lot of time lately with my pup Jethro (we call him Jethy, I think he likes that name better). They stand close to each other, about a few feet apart. She circles him, giving him the chicken side eye, checks his food bowl and steals a few beak-fulls of his water. The visits started at maybe once a day, but now I find her on his deck all the time. The other ladies have no interest in Jethy, and are content to eat grass and hunt for bugs. Jethro wont look her directly in the eye and has never growled at her. He does not show the same courtesy to our cat Sinatra, and often gives him a little growl when he is too in his face. I am really curious to see where this relationship goes.
