GOOD MORNING!!! That’s right Jackie’s back, although I must say I was a little disappointed that there was no parade for me this morning. Oh well, I’m over it now. In case you can’t tell I discovered the secret of life: COFFEE. As usual, it was very hard to wake all my precious feathers up this morning to be able to write for all of you today. As I was strolling through Mrs. Book Basset’s kitchen I saw the strangest looking machine, and I decided I must try using it, and low and behold it was the coffee maker! Well I’m off to go run a few miles, I feel so alive !!!!!! Signed your royal highness Jackie.

The Shaman’s Tale
D. Lieberman
(15 Reviews)
Genre: Religion & Spirituality | Self-Help
FREE for a limited time
It is said of The Shaman that he once tamed a wild ocean with a single breath. That he has the insight to turn fears into freedoms. That the elegant 20 foot breakers off the west coast of Costa Rica are manifests of his powers. Some say his father was a Zen Master and his mother a Voodoo Priestess. Some say that he can transform into jungle animals. All these legends are whispered, repeated, and passed on from town to town. The Shaman has no need to prove anything to the locals because he’s far too busy surfing the most dangerous waves he can catch. An unlikely disciple, Will Goldman is a typical New Yorker (highly-strung, anxiety-ridden, workaholic-neurotic) who lurches, cynically, from one deep-seated fear to the next. He’s just another piece of flotsam-and-jetsam tossed helplessly on the crashing waves of urban life, who, more often than not, is dragged below the surface by the undertow of his own self-doubt. No longer satisfied with grinding out a soulless life under the thumb of an abusive boss, Will embarks upon a new road to face his nightmares. Both men’s paths are about to cross.

Shy, reclusive Frankie and her best friend Lou obsess over Thomas G. Longley, as they reverently refer to him, for their entire first two years of medical school. So when he publicly humiliates her at the student bar she is devastated. Ten years later, Frankie has to work in the testosterone driven environment of Cardiology before she can start her palliative care training and, to her dismay, Tom is her boss. Thankfully the subject of her long-term crush doesn’t seem to remember her and, given her ability to blend into the background, she’s not really surprised. What does surprise her is how cruel he is. Sure he squished her self esteem like a bug at Uni, but the Tom she spent many a pointless lunch break or library session covertly watching seemed easy going and quick to smile; not an uptight, overly critical bully. Between passing out in theater and being covered head to foot in the bloody vomit of ‘Scary Glenda’, she can’t wait to get through the six months. Although she’s too timid to tell Tom to jog on when she is his only target, when it’s her patients that he starts trampling she decides to grow a backbone, and Tom begins to see that she is not the cold, aloof woman he once thought…
