The signs are there. I would love to turn a blind eye to it, but to ignore it will not keep it from happening. I warn you. What I am about to tell you affects us all. Please sit… are you sitting? If you haven’t yet, please do..sit. Okay. I was informed yesterday by a super reliable source that the last shipment of plants are coming into Costco this Wednesday. After that…. (I hope your sitting)…no more plants. We all know Costco won’t waste space, so something will have to replace the plants. At first it will be subtle. A multi-pack of Halloween Play-Doh in the middle of the aisle, then a fancy pirate skeleton next to the towels. THEN CHRISTMAS TREES!!!!!! AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! You have two choices. You can avoid Costco, (nope), or you can face it head on and accept the fact that they are now going to be shoving the holidays down our throats. I am opting for the third secret option. I am going to get all excited and secretly love the fact that I can start planning for the holidays. I will start picking up Christmas gifts for people now, and when Halloween hits, I will tell everyone that I already finished my Christmas shopping, so they can all hate me. Listen, I am not a fast person, I can’t cook, and most of the time I look like a hot mess. The ability to have my Christmas shopping done before anyone else is my thing. I like it. I am going to go start my list.

Jessica Rollins survived, hidden away in a mountaintop in Italy, and has made radio contact with other survivor groups scattered around the wrecked globe–but the destruction is only just beginning.
The key to humanity’s survival may lie in a backpack she recovered from her father, in the data he collected more than thirty years before as Harvard’s preeminent astrophysicist. Information he died trying to protect.
His final words to her circle around and around in her head… survive, no matter what.
But at what cost? And what is… Sanctuary?

Using his last bit of strength to foist the sealed, leather pouch upon her, he then drops dead in her hall, the result of three musket balls drilled violently into his back.
The young woman is a poor peasant, abandoned by her father and left to care for her ill mother until her death, now alone, living in a dilapidated shack, at the edge of starvation.
