I hope all the dads out there had a wonderful Father’s Day yesterday. I promise I did not nag hubby once about any projects on Sunday. I took care of that on Saturday. Today is another day of shoveling dirt out of the back of my hubby’s pick-up truck. This time will be different though. This time it is nutrient rich soil, and that means planting the plants is right around the corner. Hubby had the great idea yesterday to go to my favorite nursery to look at a few prospective plants. HIS IDEA! The place is so big they have a fleet of golf carts to take customers on shopping tours. My goal was to finish by the Fourth of July, but I might be done much sooner than that. The excitement of seeing the finish line so close is keeping me moving along despite the soreness. SO CLOSE!!!!!

So when an antiabortion demonstration ends with a bomb blast that kills a pretty young girl and an old woman, Flannery takes it personally. But someone’s stonewalling the investigation, and Flannery’s starting to wonder if the bombing was political, or as a cover-up for murder. Something smells rotten — from the Gold Coast to the South Side. And when the killer goes after Flannery’s lady love, Flannery doesn’t just get mad — he gets as mean as a junkyard dog — on the scent of the dirty politics mixed with passion and revenge, a very deadly combination…

When Helsing XII, the latest in the long and illustrious line of brave demon-hunters dies in combat, no-one would have expected his ring of power to be handed down to an idiot.
Least of all said idiot; Brian Trelawney, the most hapless car salesman in the whole of Cornwall.
With no redeeming features bar his towering height, Brian finds himself thrust into a strange and often terrifying world of vampires, banshees and all other Things That Go Bump In The Night. Trained, after a fashion, by the eccentric Masters, and equipped with strange weapons, Brian is sent into battle as the unwitting savior of mankind.
Accompanied by his friend Neil, a man oddly enough far more appropriate for the role of Helsing, Brian must bumble his way through his first mission; placating a terrifying banshee whose keening wailing is keeping the residents of Bodmin from their beauty sleep.
++Warning: This book contains copious harsh language and mind-numbing stupidity, all wrapped up in a crunchy supernatural shell.++
