This is the last weekend before the baby bassets are back in school. I feel like we should be doing something super fun and cool to end the summer off right. Twenty days on the road in an RV have pretty much sapped me of any motivation though. I still haven’t even finished cleaning out the motorhome. It’s a case of out of sight out of mind sorta thing. No one is complaining so I won’t stress about it. I just know I am going to see my Facebook feed full of pictures of the awesome things people did on the last days of summer break, and feel guilty. Can I post pictures of my clean bathroom and folded laundry? It was about four loads, so that’s pretty impressive.

He never imagined he’d be playing God that day.
Brian Partridge leapt at the chance to buy the personal property of his favorite historical author following his death, although what he received was far more than he bargained for. It didn’t take him long to discover just how the author was able to write scenes from the past with such accuracy.
Of course, Brian was familiar with time machines in movies, but that was fictional — not real — and yet, before him stood one of his very own. He knew he shouldn’t step inside and turn it on, but the temptation was more than he could bear.
Following in his hero’s footsteps, Brian starts off on an adventure that he could never have imagined, although the dream begins to drift into a nightmare as he encounters dangers more than he can handle. Now he’s barely one step ahead of the FBI, who would love to get their hands on the man swirling his finger in the sands of time.

An art historian finds – then loses – a portrait by Johannes Vermeer in this thrilling art mystery set in Munich, Heidelberg, and Amsterdam.
When Zelda Richardson investigates a new lead about a missing portrait by Johannes Vermeer, no one expects her to actually find the painting in a retired art dealer’s home in Munich, Germany. Not her parents visiting from America; her boss, private detective Vincent de Graaf; or the rightful owner of the Nazi-looted artwork.
However, Zelda’s jubilation turns to horror when she arrives to pick up the portrait and finds the art dealer dead and several frames smoldering in his fireplace. Was the Vermeer a fake and its ‘discovery’ a cruel joke played on a Nazi victim? The Munich police, Zelda’s family, and Vincent certainly think so.
Yet the art dealer’s best friend believes he was murdered and the real Vermeer stolen by an underground network of art looters, one established during World War II and still active today. The problem is, no one believes him – except Zelda.
She soon finds herself in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with immoral art collectors, corrupt dealers, and an all-to-real killer who wants her to stop searching. Can Zelda uncover the truth about the Vermeer before she is painted out of the picture permanently?
