Every time I see someone doing a fun challenge and trying to recruit people to join in, I always challenge myself to see how long I can hide under a blanket and be as still as possible. The latest one I see is people posting pictures of their child from year one to their Senior year in High School. One picture a day for each year. If you could see the state of all my family pictures you would know that is a rabbit hole that I am not prepared to travel down. Sure, they are all digital, but they are in a thousand different files with labels that make no sense what so ever. Files with names like, “This One”, “File Now”, and “Sort later” I have seven files with different versions of the name “Sort Later” I had sorted some of them, just not sure which. Are these duplicate files? So… No. No thank you to your challenge. I will just be over here under my blanket being as still as possible.

2018 B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree
Margaret Manning has spent the better part of her life conforming to the expectations of other people — first her father, then her husband. To break from this tradition, she becomes a writer of cozy mysteries and is in the process of living out her dream of opening her own bookstore — The Indie Book Nook — featuring self-published authors. But when she perceives her husband is behaving similarly to some of the unscrupulous characters in her books, she fears that she will lose him or — maybe even worse — that she is losing her mind.
While abandonment is nothing new to Margaret — she hasn’t seen or heard from her mother since she was six years old — the fear of losing her husband is devastating. As she struggles to find the strength to mend her shattered marriage, she must also cope with her obscure health issues, her daughter’s precarious behavior, a disingenuous neighbor, and an unpredictable mother-in-law.
Who in her life is a friend and who is more of a foe is not always apparent, and it’s up to Margaret to figure it all out.

Wild Inside
by S.R. Templar
(24 Reviews)
Genre: Literature & Fiction
FREE for a limited time
Private exotic zoos dot the American landscape. Some big, some small. A few are a hobby, others are a business. Jonathan Sill never intended to own or operate one. But life tends to throw a monkey wrench into the best laid plans.
The small town of Broken Arrow, West Virginia, is a quiet place trying to break out of the economic collapse of the now defunct coal mines spread throughout its grand mountains. Any business that brings people or capital to the area is more than welcome.
Jonathan’s collection of exotic animals was mutually beneficially for him, the town, and the animals… that is, until one day everything changed and he decided life was no longer worth living. Instead of keeping his despair private, he opted to add one more task to his list before taking his own life: he let all the animals go free.
Suddenly, the sleepy town can no longer rest in peace. Lions prowl busy streets, tigers roam through the rolling hills, and a duo of wolf and bear are caught somewhere in between. The true character of all the inhabitants of Broken Arrow is on full display as the tragedy of death, despair, and basic instincts come to light.
Who will capture the prize in the ultimate hunt – man or animal?
