It’s no surprise that here we are in January and I am trying to improve myself a bit. I exercised twice and I ate a carrot. I have been a bit more successful in organizing the house. That’s my version of fun. I have a question though. I see a lot of books about achieving wellness and getting healthier mentally and physically. One thing a lot of these books have in common is a woman on the cover wearing a dress and walking on the beach. If I achieve wellness, do I have to wear a dress and take a walk on the beach? I really don’t look good in dresses. I am more of a cargo shorts sitting in my car kinda girl. I don’t see that on the book covers. Hmmph. Well, I will revisit the idea of the dress if I ever reach my goal. No decision has to be made now.

Taking over the family business is my destiny. I just never expected to have to do it in a small town surrounded by nobodies. I’m a big fish in a small pond in New York. This town? I might as well be in purgatory. There’s one silver lining. My assistant. She’s curvy, too sweet for her own good, and easy to push around. Until she isn’t. She’s fire one minute and ice the next. I can’t get enough. I can’t focus, either. Everywhere I turn, she’s there. I suppose that’s the whole point of her job. But soon I want more than her help in the office planning Valentine’s events. I want her undone. Unraveled. And all to myself. I never expected cupid to deliver me my dream girl, but here she is. My Last First Date.

Space scavenger Kees DeWet is seduced by the tragic story of the voyagers who boarded the ARC.
The Alliance posts a bounty on his head to silence him. Kees risks his life to tell that story, and now you can read it for yourself.
In the deep reaches of space, an unlikely hero is about to risk his life for a doomed culture’s legacy.
Kees DeWet, a hardened space adventurer, comes upon the ARC, every scavenger’s dream discovery. What should be an easy case of turning scrap into profits is complicated by the compelling video message left by Ishmael, the final passenger aboard the generational ship that was Earth’s last hope for the survival of humanity.

BUTTER SIDE UP, THANK GOD!: A MEMOIR
by Tina Wagner Mattern
(411 Reviews)
FREE for a limited time
This memoir is the true, no holds barred story of my incredibly blessed, ridiculously messy life. If you’re looking for a fun, relaxing beach read, this isn’t it. This is more of a roller-coaster, “Good grief, what next?” kind of read. But I hope you’ll give it a chance because it’s definitely not boring, occasionally funny, and does have a wonderful, happy ending… eventually.
Within the pages of this book you’ll find:
• Good Guys, Bad Guys, and Just Plain Monsters
• Abandonments by Disturbingly Imperfect Parents, and Adoptions by Nearly Perfect Parents
• Drug Addicts, Alcoholics, Felons and Other Abysmally Bad Personal Choices
• Betrayals With Love Lost, and Miracles With Love Found
• Race Horses, Go-Go Dancing, Boarding Schools, An Escape From a Mental Hospital
• And Finally, Forgiveness, Love, and a New Beginning
Ultimately this is a book about grace and redemption. As you read my story you will see that despite every terrible thing that happened to me as a child and every bad decision I made through the years, God invariably saved and delivered me. I pray this memoir will be an encouragement and inspiration to you.
