Spring has got to be right around the corner. I have spotted one bumblebee and now Lizzy the lizard is back! I have not seen her significant other, Ardy, yet though. He might still be sleeping. I was so excited last year when they decided to move into the dry riverbed that I had made in the front yard. Taking out the lawn was the best thing I could have done. Once that was gone, and I replaced it with bee, butterfly and humming bird loving plants, along with a dry river bed, the place has come alive with wildlife. I added more rocks along the riverbed, and created a few rock piles for additional habitats for the lizards to encourage more to move in. I hope I am not coming off as desperate to the lizards. I want them to respect me.

The first is a teenage girl whose asthma suffocates her while sleeping. The second is a man shot on the tram that connects Roosevelt Island to Manhattan. Lying next to the man is the real puzzle: a woman who might appear to have died of natural causes if not for the handwritten note stuffed in her mouth that simply reads “Look back.”

Genre: Mystery

Strange events which took place in 1938 lead to the present-day cold-blooded killing of a ranch hand in the remote canyon country near Moab, Utah. The only clue besides a 9-mm bullet in the victim’s head is an ancient-Indian potsherd stuck into his chest.
Deputy Sheriff Manny Rivera is assigned the case and judges it’s related to a drug deal gone bad. But he’s actually up against an intelligent and cunning adversary driven by greed who’s discovered a long-forgotten cave containing a collection of rare museum-quality Indian artifacts.
Local politicians and merchants are exerting strong pressure on the sheriff for a quick resolution to the case as the killing is threatening to disrupt the upcoming tourist season, Moab’s sole source of economic activity. After all, who would want to explore the backcountry with a killer on the loose out there?
In the end, Rivera faces an ethical dilemma: Should he enforce the letter of the law or serve the cause of justice? And a woman learns the answer to a question that’s been haunting her for seventy years.
