Right now we are experiencing False Spring. The sun is out, the bulbs are blooming, and the birds are chirp chirp chirping. That’s Mother Natures way of luring gardeners out of their protective caves and snugly warm blankets. I for one do not mind being lied to. First chance I get today I will be outside harassing the plants. Every day this week I have been ripping out the Dutch Irises. About five years ago I planted 80 bulbs in one bed. I am pretty sure 200 blooms came up that year. Completely smothered out all the other plants. Ever since then I have been yanking them out and putting the flowers in vases around the house and on the deck. It seems a shame to yank them out bulb and all, but every year they seem to double in numbers. I really love these kinds of problems
