This morning is all about football, bacon and eggs. We will be cheering on our favorite football team and feasting on my favorite food, BACON! It does feel a bit odd to have a football party that is in the morning, but if we don’t that would be bad karma our team. As fans we have a responsibility. I wonder if holding a chicken and calling her pretty names would push the odds in our favor. Might have to try it.

When a mutilated corpse is found bound to a tree deep in the forest of remote Aubrey Island, Washington, residents learn that the murder mirrors, in every ritualistic detail, a series of revenge killings described in a century-old local ghost story.More abductions and killings soon follow.

Justin Riddley, recently transferred to the island’s small college, faces growing evidence that one of his new friends and fellow students may be the murderer.John Marshall, redemption-seeking captain of the local police force, leads the frantic murder investigation and struggles to figure out whether the killings are tied to the island’s dark and violent past.Tormented by tragic wartime memories, and more convinced with each day that it is humanity’s fate to destroy itself, Marshall races against both the murderer and the specter of his own mental breakdown.

As blood continues to spill, Riddley and Marshall wonder whether there may be a dark, universal force that drives evil deeds great and small, and whether the nature of one’s childhood might sometimes, in the end, be all that separates the saint from the psychopath.

An adventure mystery full of intrigue, suspense, danger and lost historical inquiry. The Lotus Cross is a thriller pitting personal gain against the promise of redemption.

For over a thousand years, history has kept secret the Lotus Cross, an artifact with blood traces of the risen Christ hidden within it. Now that its existence has been confirmed, many will do anything to have it.

In this adventure mystery, a manuscript is discovered which describes the existence of the Lotus Cross and describes its clandestine history. Its origins lie in Doubting Thomas, the only apostle to touch the risen Christ’s wounds and the only early follower to spread the faith to India. On the subcontinent, Thomas forged the Lotus Cross, a vessel to contain the preserved blood of Christ. The cross was fashioned upon a base shaped like a lotus flower. It was taken to China centuries later and eventually hidden to protect its precious contents from those who persecuted the Christian faith. The Lotus Cross would remain lost for over a thousand years until the manuscript discovery.

In an age of advanced scientific techniques, the blood-flecked pouch within the Lotus Cross could yield the key to the second coming of Christ. Professor Michael Drake sets off to find the religious artifact. With the help of other archaeologists, the British Secret Service and members of a secret Christian group, he uncovers the secret within the Lotus Cross, but not without great risk. An adventure mystery full of intrigue, suspense, danger and historical inquiry, the novel is a thriller pitting personal gain against the promise of redemption.

Kyra Summers is living atop of her world: successful farmer, author and songwriter. She is everything she has ever wanted to be, almost. Living the single life has proven to be quiet lonely due to the fact she hasn’t kept a boyfriend since that dreadful night nearly six years ago when she was sent to hell and back.

What Kyra thought would be a nice relaxing one night fling turns into something more complicated. Like how the guy she thought was just passing through town somehow ends up moving into her guest room.

Blake Burro had no real plans for his life, and he liked it that way. Upon learning he had fallen into some inheritance, Blake hopped on his Harley and cruised halfway across the country to see what his grandfather possessed. What he found in Illinois was a lot more than he expected: a bar, a house, some money, oh and an outstanding debt owed to him from the pretty feisty farm girl he spent his first night in town with.

Nothing is ever simple though. Kyra is still trying to outrun her nightmares and Blake has problems of his own. But when Blake stumbles upon a box of his grandfather’s journals they both discover that Blake’s family secrets is the same one that left Kyra in a ditch to die.

On the Edge of Twilight: 22 Tales to Follow You Home
Gregory Miller
5.0 Stars (5 Reviews)
Genre: Contemporary Fiction | Short Stories | Fantasy

FREE for a limited time

Gregory Miller writes: “…time fades old frights.” A clever line yet not quite true, if one is to believe these stories, many of which feature the departed and their undiminished entanglement with the living. Miller walks an undulating line between the creepy and nostalgic, the macabre and sweet, the malevolent and innocent – a provocative blend that leaves the reader wistful for many who have passed, but also relieved to leave some of the more vindictive spirits behind. In short, this collection, his third, is a tapestry of diverse tales that resonate in surprising and unusual ways.
