A friend of mine told me on hot days her chickens like to take a dip in a kiddie poo to cool off. It was 91 degrees out and I thought it was a brilliant idea. I started with Heather. I gently removed her from the nest and gave her little hugs and kisses like I always do. She is too cute not to cuddle a bit. I slowly lowered her down into the kiddie pool. As soon as her little feet touched the water she expressed her opinion. If you ever wondered if a chicken can say bad words, the answer is YES. Well she flapped around so much she ended up all the way in the pool. Thankfully it was only a few inches deep so she was only up to her belly. Side note on this…I wonder if she will stop being broody now? I did not test the other ladies.
