I am bringing three different outfits to wear to Tough Mudder. I am only doing the event once, but for some reason what I am wearing is of great concern to me and I just can’t pick one outfit. 5 minutes into the event everyone looks the same…muddy. You are covered from head to toe in mud and blood. It’s not a beauty contest, it’s a challenge to your soul and stomach. Wow.. that sounded serious. There are people dressed up like the characters from Sesame Street, so I am going to bring it down a couple pegs.

A young boy born with unique psychic abilities. An ancient alien artifact he accidently discovers. Now Earth is targeted for total annihilation by 50,000 warships.
In this epic story, Saxon Andrew takes us into the future and the lives of human and nonhuman characters, some we can easily relate to, and others who are a bit different. Along with a hearty dose of battles and spaceships, this is a story that offers humor and a tale of enduring love against the backdrop of galactic war on a grand scale. The following is an excerpt from the book:
Admiral Dorg sat in his command chair on board the Alliance Flagship War Weapon and watched as his fleet was destroying the humans’ ships. He heard his bridge crew cheering but he couldn’t help thinking, “This is too easy. This fleet couldn’t have defeated our ships at the Human Colony World.”
Then he said, “Communications, put a picture of one of those human ships that was just destroyed on my display.” A picture of a small ship suddenly appeared on his console. He looked at it for a minute and then pulled up a picture of the small human ship that had killed two heavy cruisers. He put it next to the ship that had just been destroyed; they looked nothing alike. His internal alarms went off at full blast; he stood and yelled, “Order the fleet back into formation!” His crew stopped cheering and looked at him like he was crazy. “Do it now; we’re being set up for a trap!” His crew hesitated, looking at each other for just a moment, and then started issuing orders, but that small hesitation proved fatal; the human fleet ripped into the Alliance ships like a tsunami.

The Best of Fools (Jane Austen Book 2)

***Best when read after the prequel, No, Not that Jane Austen*** Jane Austen is nothing like that Jane Austen. Or so she thinks. Emotionally guarded and unwilling to open up to just anyone, Jane is surrounded by friends and family who seem obsessed with starry-eyed sensational romances. But as Jane explores the hidden chambers of her heart, she finds herself standing face-to-face with the love she’s spent her life avoiding. The kind of love that breaks you into a million pieces when it’s gone. The kind of love that softens you, hardens you, and changes everything you thought you knew. The kind of love that is asking her to risk it all and finish what she started. Magnetic, emotional, and profoundly moving, The Best of Fools is a timeless love story for the young at heart. A story that will stir you to place your book down and hold the one you love… without letting go. A story that will stick with you long after you turn the last page. Because love knows no end. And neither do the stories that convey what only the heart can understand. As Jane discovers, like the “real Jane Austen,” the colors of love are vast, no love story is the same, and sometimes all it takes is the right person to open you up to a world you never thought you’d find. A world you’ll never want to leave.
