I fell into the trap and I must admit I loved it. It’s that time of year again. Time to plan what little projects I am going to work on for Halloween. I Googled “Halloween Decorating Ideas” and I will say I wasn’t disappointed. I scrolled through hundreds of brilliant creations of some pretty crafty people, and it got me fired up for this years holiday season. I posted some of my favorites on my Pinterest board titled Halloween Time, click here to check it out. My poor baby bassets are not always fans of my little projects. I often resemble a mad scientist when I hide away in the garage to build something. Often they find me looking like a crazy woman, hair a horrible mess, paint and sawdust all over me, arguing with myself out loud. In the end though they are always thrilled with my creations, even when they don’t resemble at all what it looked like on Pinterest. My baby bassets are getting old enough now, this might be the year I let them into my lab… I mean in the garage to help.

SCOTTISH LASSES… Meet the lasses in the world of Mary Queen of Scots… Like the Scottish thistle, they’re lovely yet tough, beautiful yet prickly, and only the strongest and wisest heroes are able to elude their thorns to discover the tender blossom within.

MacFARLAND’S LASS: A woman on the run… a man on the hunt. He has forty days to earn her trust. She has forty days to win his heart. They have forty days to outwit their enemies.

When Florie Gilder, the once-respected jeweler to Queen Mary, claims sanctuary in an abandoned church for a crime she didn’t commit, huntsman Rane MacFarland, a local hero of the common folk, vows to protect her. But when his overlord charges him with preventing the fugitive lass’s escape, Rane finds himself torn between duty and desire when he begins to fall for his spirited captive. And when powerful foes conspire to turn Rane and Florie against each other, they need courage, wits, and, most of all, love, to survive.

Strangers Have the Best Candy: How talking to strangers leads to a life of crazy adventure and lasting friendship
Margaret Meps Schulte
4.8 Stars (56 Reviews)
Genre: Health, Fitness & Dieting | Humor & Entertainment

FREE for a limited time

Winner of the Bookseller Diagram Prize for Oddest Title of the Year. Research published in the New York Times and the Huffington Post proves that talking to strangers is good for us. But how do you get people to talk to strangers? Strangers Have the Best Candy is the book that answers that question. Margaret Meps Schulte shares her own humorous, illustrated stories of chance encounters with strangers, demonstrating how such encounters lead to adventure, friendship, and serendipity. You’ll meet everyday strangers, as well as larger-than-life characters like Captain Craig, the Scourge of Lake Union and Environs, and Harley and Annabelle, the not-so-mediocre music-makers of Route 66. Readers say the book is impossible to put down, but that once they finish it, they have an uncanny urge “to go out and find some strangers to talk to.”
