I accomplished nothing yesterday, and I regret nothing. I sat on the couch the entire day watching Marvel movies. I started with Iron Man and worked my way through chronologically, skipping ones I just wasn’t in the mood for. My boys were really enjoying having me sit in one place for so long, I don’t think they have seen that in a long time. I was double thrilled when my friend dropped off a wonderful Christmas blanket she had made for me. After a quick visit I was back on the couch, cozy under my new blanket. I was worried I would have trouble sleeping last night from such a long day of laziness, but I slept like a log. It was all in preparation for today. Today I will brave Costco and the grocery store. I am expecting it to be a mad house with it being just a few days before Christmas. Good thing I learned a few moves from watching all those super hero movies.

Pete — an impetuous, avowedly self-absorbed writer — and Dave — a pithy banker with a “genius for generosity” — had maintained a close friendship since their first days at college. They stood as Best Man for each other; they are godfathers to each other’s sons.
That bond cracks during one visit in their mid-thirties, and since then neither can say with any satisfaction why. In their ensuing letters, both men begin speaking with a candor they never shared face-to-face, and over 15 years they break down and rebuild what each thought of the other, and of themselves, sifting the remains of a friendship dissolved and youth passed.

A woman determined to spread the Christmas spirit…
Former socialite turned community centre worker Candice Kane loves Christmas. In the run down area she works in, economics and rising unemployment mean that there isn’t a lot of Christmas spirit to go around. Determined to do something about it, for the last couple of years she’s arranged a Christmas Party, complete with a visit from Santa for the neighbourhood kids. This year though, a break-in and damage from vandals means the party could be cancelled.
A Santa who hates Christmas…
Rhod is… was… a Santa. For years he joined the other men in his family delivering presents, until the attitude and ungratefulness of the rich children he delivered to made him hang up his red suit. Working for the Paranormal Protection Agency, he’s convinced himself that he’s happier without being the big guy anymore.
When he and his partner rescue Candy from an attack in a secluded alley, all Rhod’s decisions are put to the test. Can he hold out against a woman with Christmas spirit in her heart, or will he lose his own in the process?
