I haven’t even put the Christmas totes back in the attic yet, and I am already thinking about Easter. I KNOW!!! Please don’t get mad at me for mentioning another holiday, but I want to make something, and I only have the weekends to do it if I want hubby’s help. My goal is to make at least two different items and maybe sell a few, so planning is key here. Looking for a new project is also keeping me from eating my baby basset’s Christmas chocolate. So far I have spent a good portion of the morning spiraling down the Pinterest rabbit hole. So many cute ideas. I had to step away. I pinned about a million ideas, so I will leave it for now. Maybe if I come back in a few hours I will have a fresh mind that can sort through them and weed out the ones I will never do. Yaaa…. wish me luck on that one.

Heart of the Cottage Court Motel: Sometimes…especially when least expected…love is simply meant to be.
by Jacie Middlemann
4.2 Stars (33 Reviews)
Genre: Women’s Fiction | Historical Fiction | Romance

FREE for a limited time

A love story between two people who weren’t looking for love but found it… a mystery tragically rooted in their family’s history… and a cat who found a home… She’s a single mom, adores her son and even his cat, and doesn’t have time for romance. The sheriff doesn’t agree.

Rebecca has one love in her life… her young five-year-old son. Unexpectedly, after a number of sudden changes in her well thought out plans, the single mother finds herself and her son living with her Great-Aunt Lettie in her big historic home in the small-town of Spring Falls. It isn’t long before Rebecca bumps into the grown up version of the boy who was both the bane of her childhood and a best friend she could always count on.

Sheriff Connor Patterson didn’t expect to see Rebecca again… at least not until he heard that she was moving to Spring Falls. It wasn’t as if they were enemies but the last time they’d seen each other, it hadn’t ended well. He definitely didn’t expect the tidal wave of emotions that hit him sideways when he first saw her again… but knew from that first moment that everything in his life was about to change.

Lettie McDonough dearly grieved the loss of her sister and hated living alone in their big old house. She was thrilled when Rebecca, her son, and his cat came to live with her. Then only days after their arrival, Rebecca asked about her sister’s unexpected purchase of the Cottage Court Motel down the street.

The explanation was simple but Lettie knew there were other more complicated reasons behind her sister’s need to bring the property back into the McDonough family. Before her death, Cassie strongly believed that the Cottage Court Motel surrounded by its beautiful gardens was at the heart of a long-hidden family secret that until recently neither she or her sister knew existed.

Perhaps it was time to find out if she was right.

If you enjoy clean emotional women’s romantic fiction, heroes and heroines who are strong, kind and compassionate, filled with hope and laughter, the Simply Meant to Be series may be the series for you.

No Wrong Turns: Cycling the World, Part One: Paris to Sydney
by Chris Pountney
4.6 Stars (586 Reviews)
Genre: Sports & Outdoors

FREE for a limited time

“I spent the first afternoon beneath a big blue sky, riding safely on quiet back roads through rolling hills of green and yellow crops, where the only sounds were pigeons cooing and bees buzzing. I felt so alive, and I took a big, satisfied inhalation of fresh country air to appreciate where I was. The overpowering smell of manure made me slightly regret that, but even so it could do little to dent the joy I felt now that my big trip was under way. It was a really special sort of happiness, something bordering on euphoria. It was a feeling brought on by the anticipation of what was to come, as I set forth on this journey that was sure to change my life forever. And it was all ahead. The deserts that needed to be crossed, the mountain ranges that would have to be conquered, the oceans to be sailed, the people to be met, the problems to be overcome. It was all out there. Everything was ahead of me. At no future point would I be able to say that. From here on, the anticipation would turn to experiences that all too soon would fade to memories. The way I felt now, at the very start of my adventure, was something to treasure, something that I would always remember. It was one of the best moments of my life.”

Join Chris Pountney as he sets out on the ride of a lifetime, pedalling his bicycle away from the Eiffel Tower in the vague direction of the Sydney Opera House. It is the first stage of an ambitious attempt to become the first person ever to circumnavigate the planet using only a bicycle and boats, or at least the first person that he knows of. With a list of seven challenges to guide him (but no real map), he heads east, not knowing what he might find along the way. He might find love, he might find himself, and he might find a human skull at the side of the road in China. I’m afraid you will have to buy the book to know for sure though.

Skip Langdon Vol. 1-9: The Skip Langdon Mystery Anthologies Book 1
by Julie Smith
4.5 Stars (703 Reviews)
Genre: Travel

FREE for a limited time

The EDGAR AWARD-WINNING murder mystery series is now available for a KILLER price!

Grab 9 thrilling page-turners for less than an Alexander Hamilton!

Follow the remarkably bold, smart, and refreshingly human New Orleans detective Skip Langdon through the twists and turns of New Orleans — from raucous Mardi Gras to the swampy summertime — as she navigates deadly family secrets, tracks down a serial killer, and delves deep into the mastermind of a psychopath unlike any you’ve ever encountered…

NEW ORLEANS MOURNING
It’s Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and civic leader and socialite Chauncey St. Amant has been crowned Rex, King of Carnival. But his day of glory comes to an abrupt and bloody end when a parade-goer dressed as Dolly Parton guns him down.

AXEMAN’S JAZZ
What’s the perfect killing field for a murderer? A place where he (or maybe she) can learn your secrets from your own mouth and then make friends over coffee. A supposedly “safe” place where anonymity is the norm. The horror who calls himself The Axeman has figured it out and claimed his territory — he’s cherry-picking his victims in the 12-Step programs of New Orleans.

JAZZ FUNERAL
Skip Langdon just happens to be on hand when Ham Brocato, director of New Orleans Jazzfest, is discovered dead on the kitchen floor in the middle of his own party the evening before the Fest. To complicate the already murky case, the victim’s sixteen-year-old blues musician sister has disappeared, and Skip suspects that if the young woman isn’t the murderer, she’s in mortal danger from the person who is.

DEATH BEFORE FACEBOOK
It’s a chilly November in 1994, and thirty-one-year-old Geoff Kavanagh surreptitiously splits his time between science fiction novels and cyberspace in his parents’ dilapidated, overgrown, uptown New Orleans mansion. Until his mother finds him dead from a suspicious fall off a ladder. Maybe he should never have posted about seeing his father murdered…

HOUSE OF BLUES
Sugar Hebert arrives home from a ten-minute errand to find her husband shot to death and the rest of her family missing — including her daughter Reed, heir apparent to the Hebert restaurant dynasty, and Reed’s eleven-month-old daughter.

THE KINDNESS OF STRANGERS
Politics makes the strangest bedfellows of all and in New Orleans, a psychopath’s running for mayor. Not just the usual harmless megalomaniac — a murderer and a monster.

CRESCENT CITY CONNECTION
Sure, New Orleans is known for corruption, but suddenly the good guys get a break — an honest police chief. And then someone guns him down. When a terrifying organization called The Jury takes out the cop-killer, Detective Skip Langdon’s on the case. And she suspects The Jury’s the brainchild of her old nemesis, self-described preacher Errol Jacomine.

82 DESIRE
It seems Councilwoman Bebe Fortier has misplaced her equally prominent husband, United Oil VP Russell Fortier. Across town, part-time detective/poet Talba Wallis has a simple wish–to find out what Russell Fortier’s disappearance has to do with her. NOPD Detective Skip Langdon soon senses something big starting to unfold, something a lot bigger than a missing husband.

MEAN WOMAN BLUES
The Rev. Errol Jacomine is crazy as a fox that just ate a loon and more dangerous than a cell full of serial killers. He’s trying to off Detective Skip Langdon, the New Orleans cop who’s twice smashed his criminal endeavors, yet each time he’s managed to slip away. Now he’s mad in every sense of the word.
