I must have been taking how good little Rosey is for granted, because she went and got herself into trouble. We caught her chewing a plastic pot you get when you buy a plant at the nursery, and now she is barfing up little pieces of plastic. UGH. Poor sweet baby. I told you we call her “Don’t Eat That” just about 50% of the time. I bet she hasn’t learned her lesson. Puppy brain. Well, we will keep an eye on her and follow her with a roll of paper towels.

You just can’t make these things up…

Life has been a rollercoaster through a forest filled with dream-eating squirrels who are hot on my tail.

Okay, it’s not that bad, but it feels like it is at times.

I’m a single mom to my sister’s little girl, and I found out a year ago that Hollywood is making a movie from one of my books.

It would be great news except they failed to tell me they were making the film.

To top it all off, I’m falling for a smirking, self-entitled jerk who almost ran into me the other day.

He’s busy flirting with the single moms at the school play and pretending to be God’s gift to women.

Why is he stealing my thoughts, my breath, and my desire to be independent?

I might’ve made a name for myself writing fantasy, but my life is no fairy tale right now. The last thing I need is to be falling in love with him.

Him of ALL people. Ugh.

There has to be more than meets the eye. And the eye is very, very happy.

This single-father lawyer is willing to save my career and what does he want in return?

Me. Nothing much, right?

It would be easier to stay frenemies with this handsome hunk, but I find myself in the one place I hoped I’d never be.

Desperate for him.

Every good girl deserves a bad boy. ~ Weston

Warriors of the Forgotten Way: The Samurai Cowboys – Book One

The Sword and the Gun

In 1865, the American Civil War comes to an end, and the United States enters the Reconstruction era of postwar rebuilding and industrial development.

In 1868, Japan establishes a more modern, centralized government, and the feudal era, during which dozens of independent states had been at war with one another for hundreds of years, also comes to an end. The samurai class, without masters to serve or battles to fight, is abolished a few years later.

The transcontinental railroad is completed in 1869, connecting the United States from coast to coast. This starts a race between companies to extend miles of track across open land and introduces immigrants and their culture from Asia and the Pacific.

The big expansion of the American West welcomed everyone bold enough to make the journey and strong enough to survive. Many moved to the vast wide-open territory to chase fortunes in gold and silver, while others sought to own land for ranching, farming, and other natural resources. And others just wanted a new life.

It was a time of opportunity and lawlessness, with stories of famous cowboys and gunfighters. But some of those stories have remained untold… until now.

Warriors of the Forgotten Way is Nate Wagner’s debut novel, and book one of The Samurai Cowboys series. This action-packed ‘samurai western’ is based on historic events and tells a bold story of lost souls finding each other, and being forced to choose between loyalty, love, and redemption in the American West.

Hi. I’m Mae West. No. Not the actress.

If you would’ve told me year ago that I was going to be broke and penniless after my husband took everyone to the cleaners after he pulled off one of the biggest Ponzi schemes, leaving me a run down campground, a set of camper keys, before he escaped prison and when the FBI came to the campground to see if I helped him escape, then the no good you know what floated up to the top of the lake in that campground making me the number one suspect, I’d said you were lying.
