Rebecca, the preying mantis that lived in the front yard last year, has left quite a legacy behind. I have moved no less than ten baby mantis from the patches of weeds that I am pulling, to some of the permanent plants. Instead of just grabbing a handful of weeds and throwing them in a bucket, I carefully pinch one weed at a time while looking for little babies. I think I have cleared a square foot of weeds in an hours time. UGH!!! I love bugs, but hate weeds. The bonus to moving them to other plants is they will have their own territory and not have to battle it out to the death. I keep telling myself this so I don’t go nuts.
