Every single year! Every single Summer and Fall I buy a bunch of bulbs for the garden and put them in the small refrigerator outside. The fridge used to be for the beer keg, but these days we don’t drink enough beer to justify a full keg. In fact, I have had the same six pack in the refrigerator for three months. So now it’s where I store flower bulbs. I usually buy a bag or two at a time and throw it in the fridge without looking to see what I already bought. Without fail, after New Years, I look inside to see hundreds of little bulbs waiting to be planted. Planting them is a time consuming choir that I hate. Yet I never think of that when I buy them. I just remember the flowers, never the digging in the hard ground on my hands and knees. I can’t even remember where I was planning to put all these bulbs. I am so mad at past me.
