So now we have ten foot tall aliens being spotted by hikers “traversing Brazilian Island.” Yup. That sounds about right. I watched the video. Fine. I will accept aliens have made earth a tourist destination. Oh man. So what you are telling me is that somewhere out in the universe, there are aliens whose economy is so bad that the best they could do for a vacation is Earth? Earth is beautiful and all, but pretty darn dangerous. Humans are a jumpy bunch. Not sure I would bring my alien family here. Maybe they are adventure seekers. Extreme sports kinda beings. What did that brochure from the alien travel agent look like? OH MY GOSH! Those aliens were scammed!! They thought they were going somewhere exotic and instead they were dropped off on Earth. It could be that they just wanted to see Taylor Swift in concert. I mean… who wouldn’t.

Laura was a child, a six-year-old girl.
She had no idea why she’d been taken from her mother, or where she was going.
Her new friend was nice enough, but Laura really missed her home.
Luckily, she was too young to realise exactly what was about to happen.
Her mother was distraught. Being told that you will never see your daughter again is unimaginable. That’s not something you can ever recover from.
This is a novel about two very different men, both caught up in tragic circumstances, for completely different reasons.
Cole is tough, ex-military, forceful and direct. He’s the sort of person that trouble and danger seem to follow.
Hedge is a reluctant hero. Some would say a normal, everyday kind of person. Occasionally anxious and fearful, he’s not used to this type of situation.
It’s going to be an adventure for them both and getting anything close to a good outcome just doesn’t seem very likely.

Kevin Bradley shows how to mix fast paced action, with suspense and intrigue. This novel will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Desperate Journey: Escape from Burma in 1942, through 900 miles of arduous, Japanese-occupied territory
by Francis Clifford

Genre: Biographies & Memoirs | History

“This is a story of escape; a true account of how a dwindling group of soldiers made their way to safety through nearly a thousand miles of Japanese-occupied territory in the teeth of the monsoon.”

On 20th April 1942, Captain Thompson received word that the defensive line held by their Chinese allies had broken; orders or no orders, he knew they had to move.

Separated from the rest of the Burma Army and weary from months of continuous fighting retreats, the survivors of his Karen Company began their long walk northwards. In the suffocating Burmese jungle the days turned to weeks, the weeks into months, and all the while the mental decay kept pace with their physical deterioration.

And yet, with such indomitable men as Subedar-Major Kan Choke and Subedar Ba Gyaw at Thompson’s side, his Company clung to each other and endured. When Fort Hertz finally came into view in August, the journey of nine hundred miles and untold maladies had left many of them little more than walking skeletons.

Written in 1944 but remaining unseen for over thirty years, Desperate Journey is an extraordinary true story of human endeavour, of faith, courage, tenacity and mutual trust in the face of insurmountable odds.
