Today I am coming to you from Lodi California at one of our favorite campgrounds. We just got in yesterday afternoon, so I consider today day one. I told hubby I just couldn’t work off of a laptop all week. It was just too small, and a big pain in the tushy for me. So my awesome hubby set me up this morning with a full monitor, and brought my keyboard as well. One problem. The thing is massive. It takes up the whole table and I feel like I am in the front row of a movie theater. If I don’t watch it, people might start setting up chairs behind me with their bags of popcorn and start getting impatient when the movie doesn’t start right away. Did I complain to hubby? NOPE! Poor guy went through a lot of trouble to make me happy and I am not going to say a word. But if any of you want to see what I am writing as I do it, just look out your window from anywhere in the US towards California and you should have a clear view.

It was supposed to be the opportunity of a lifetime — the chance to be on a reality show and win a million dollars.

Ten contestants are dropped individually on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean with one goal in mind — SURVIVE. But, there are more dangers lurking in the shadows than just the wolves, bears, isolation and harsh environment. Nobody expected a murderer among them.

The last survivor standing will win the million dollar prize, but the real prize might be merely coming home alive when all communication with the outside world is lost and sleeping bags start turning into body bags.

Kimmie Arden- A burnt-out nurse from New York who’s sick of the daily grind and work-related stress. If she can outlast the others, it can mean a more peaceful life for her whole family.

Seaton Rogers- A screenwriter and self-described introvert — perhaps the type of personality most suited for months of isolation. He wants the million dollars so he can distance himself from society and live a self-sustaining life on his own terms.

Zoey Price- A dance instructor and the youngest person in the competition entering at 24 years-old. She’ll have to learn quickly and adapt if she wants a shot at beating the older, more experienced survivalists.

Floyd Benson- A pizza delivery man from Florida with two young children depending on him. Can his energy-conserving strategy help him survive longer than the others?

Ezra Greer- A hard-nosed truck driver from Alaska. He’s come to Isolation Island to escape his dark past and make a new start. One million dollars would surely go a long way.

Secrets of Paris
by Vernon Coleman
3.8 Stars (287 Reviews)
Genre: Travel

FREE for a limited time

Vernon Coleman’s very personal, wry look at Paris and the Parisians.
A light hearted, loving, much praised introduction to the heart and soul of the city by a bestselling writer who loves Paris and has had a home there for 20 years. Readers will need to appreciate irony.
Selected as Book of the Month by `French’ magazine and highly praised by `Destination France’ and other expert reviewers.
`Is it travel writing or reference? Actually it cleverly manages to combine both .Before you’ve finished reading I guarantee you’ll be planning a visit.Secrets of Paris gives you just that – an insight into Parisian life, packed with local and personal anecdotes, and historical and socio-political information. Refreshingly, this isn’t just a trite travel book but a readable, funny and intelligent guide to what to do and what not to do and see in the city. Imagine getting top tips from a trusted friend who has lived in Paris for a few years.’ – French Magazine
`This isn’t a guide book although its sub-title is Paris for Beginners, an Insider’s Guide. Rather, it’s a witty series of observations about life in Paris. A prolific writer Coleman has sold over two million books in the UK alone, covering genres (such as) medical matters and novels. He writes amusingly about flowers, the elderly, notaires, zebra crossings, hotels and almost anything else you can think of. There’s a list of 10 things not worth doing (including visiting the Bois de Boulogne) and 20 things you must do in Paris (from visiting Pere Lachaise to having a drink at Les Deux Magots or Café Flore). Hugely entertaining.’ – Destination France
