I am super excited about Halloween this year. In my very small circle right now we are split about whether or not we should take the children Trick-or-treating. Taking away something so fun at first really bummed me out, but out of this discussion came some awesome ideas. To the point where I really don’t care if we Trick-or-treat this year or not. The first idea I loved was an idea stolen from Valentines Day. Instead of a box covered in hearts, we have a jack-o-lantern bucket with each kids name on it. Each family is going to bring a treat for each child and fill the buckets up. The kids won’t have a hundred pieces of the usual candies, but instead treats that are more substantial and unique to each family. We are also planning a Halloween Hunt. This would be just like an Easter Egg Hunt, but we are leaving out the bunnies and bringing in the cute ghost and goblins. I have purchased 200 small treat bags, big enough for one piece of Halloween candy. Since I have the hunt planned for after dark, I am adding mini glow sticks to each bag. You can buy 200 mini glow sticks online for about $25. They also come in packs of 50 or 100 at a lower cost. If you like the idea, buy them soon because places are running out of mini glow sticks fast. I will post pictures of these and other ideas as soon as I get the supplies in. Halloween is NOT canceled, its new and improved!

The thing that wiped out the dinosaurs is about to make its comeback.
It’s a trillion times smaller than a killer asteroid.
And it’s fallen into the hands of a madman.
After surviving a horrific outbreak of the Black Nile virus, epidemiologist Leigh Austen’s done her best to bury memories along with the bodies.
But when a call for help from the World Health Organization (WHO) arrives at her lab, she’s got to face her nightmares all over again. Something’s wiping entire villages clean of humans and wildlife in a war-torn former Soviet Republic. Leigh’s skills are desperately needed to identify and stop the pathogen’s spread before it explodes into a global pandemic.
Austen’s team of scientists and armed security set off into the epicenter of the hot zone: over a mile straight down the throat of the Karakul, the deepest open-pit mine in Asia. From there, they’ll contend with treacherous military officers, caverns filled with scalding-hot poisonous gas, and an organism so deadly it annihilated the dinosaurs sixty-five million years ago.
What Leigh and her people discover will shake them to their very core.
If they survive.
Author’s Note: The Devil’s Noose is a self-contained work and does not end on a cliffhanger. It contains a limited amount of strong language, gore, and some graphic violence. Ratings-wise, it would either be a hard PG-13 or soft R. Please decide to purchase accordingly.

Space turned out to be deeper than anyone imagined.
High above the windswept plains of Kazakhstan, three astronauts on board a Russian Soyuz capsule begin their reentry. A strange shimmer in the atmosphere, a blinding flash of light, and the capsule vanishes in a blink as though it never existed.
On the ground, evidence points to a catastrophic failure, but a communications facility halfway around the world picks up a transmission that could be one of the astronauts. Tragedy averted, or merely delayed? A classified government project on the cutting edge of particle physics holds the clues, and with lives on the line, there is little time to waste.
Daniel Rice is a government science investigator. Marie Kendrick is a NASA operations analyst. Together, they must track down the cause of the most bizarre event in the history of human spaceflight. They draw on scientific strengths as they plunge into the strange world of quantum physics, with impacts not only to the missing astronauts, but to the entire human race.
If you liked the authenticity of The Martian, the page-turning pace of Da Vinci Code, and the inspirational world view of Arthur C. Clarke, you’ll love Quantum Space. A mind-bending journey from the ultra-small to the vast stage of the Milky Way.

Darkhouse (Experiment in Terror #1)
by Karina Halle
(825 Reviews)
Genre: Romance | Literature & Fiction | Coming of Age
FREE for a limited time
Book one in a slow-burn horror romance series, from a New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author
Take all the suspense and sexual tension of The X-Files, combine it with the charm and antics of Supernatural, and the creep factor of any of those ghost-hunting TV shows, and you get DARKHOUSE.
Well, not quite.
Dex and Perry might have the chemistry of Mulder and Scully and the scares of the Winchester Brothers, but I promise you this duo is unlike anything you’ve read before.
When 23-year old Perry Palomino explores a supposedly haunted lighthouse she runs into Youtuber, Dex Foray, a sexy, snarky and opportunistic ghost hunter who doesn’t quite believe in ghosts. What Dex does believe in is making money and in Perry he sees a viable opportunity: create a ghost-hunting show on YouTube that would rival anything you’d see on TV and watch the dollars roll in.
But creating and filming a ghost-hunting show isn’t easy, especially when the ghosts start hunting them.
And sometimes your inner demons are harder to battle than real life ones.
WARNING: There are two things you need to know about this book. 1 – the series does get sexier as the books go on, so I should warn you now (this book is totally PG, except for language… please mind the very crude language) and 2 – this was the author’s first book, written back in 2009. She’s written 55novels (in all genres) since then but please note… we all have to start somewhere. That said, enjoy the crazy ride!
